BURSTREEL / PRIVACY

BurstReel Privacy Policy

Your photos. Your choices.

Effective September 15, 2026

BurstReel is a Kazobe app. This policy describes the app, its public support website, and information you choose to send to Kazobe.

BurstReel turns photo sequences into videos on your device. It has no account system, advertising, tracking, analytics SDK, or developer-operated upload service. The app does not send your photos, logos, videos, or project data to the developer.

Photos, logos, and projects

For normal imports, BurstReel reads the photos and logo files you select or share with it. The optional burst importer requests Photos library access to find burst sequences, show their thumbnails and frame counts, and copy every frame of the burst you choose. It makes local copies for your projects and stores project names, image order, and video settings on your device. Alignment and video creation run on your device. Apple Photos, iCloud Drive, and other file providers may download the files you select using their own services and privacy settings. Your device backup settings may include BurstReel data.

Imported logos and logos from existing projects are also copied into a local Saved Logos library for reuse across projects. Logos received in synced projects are added to the receiving device's library. The library itself is stored locally rather than synced as a separate collection.

Optional iCloud project sync

Sync is off until enabled in Projects on each device. When enabled, BurstReel stores project names, original photo copies, photo order, video settings, and logos in your personal iCloud Drive. This uses your iCloud storage and Apple’s services and privacy settings. The developer does not receive these files. Rendered previews and exported videos are not synced by this feature; each device prepares its own video.

Turning sync off keeps local projects and existing iCloud data. Deletions propagate to other synced devices. Revision history, deletion markers, and cached assets are retained to reconcile offline edits and recover conflicts; deleting a project does not immediately erase this synchronization history. To remove the cloud history, turn off sync on all your devices and manage BurstReel’s iCloud storage in system Settings.

Saving and sharing

On iPhone and iPad, saving a video to Photos requests permission to add that video. Selecting photos uses the system picker. Import Burst from Photos requests Full Access to read the frames hidden behind a burst thumbnail; ordinary photo selection does not require this access. When you share an exported video, the app or service you choose receives it and its own privacy policy applies. On Mac, file access is granted through the system file picker, and burst import requests Photos library access.

Retention and deletion

Projects remain on your device until you delete them. Deleting a project removes it from the project library. Unneeded project-owned local photo copies can be removed; sync history and cached assets are retained as described above. Removing a logo from a project removes that project's logo reference, while the Saved Logos copy remains available for reuse, including after the project is deleted. Photos sent through the share extension are temporarily held in shared on-device storage until BurstReel receives them. Original files and exported videos remain where you saved them; delete those separately in Photos or Files. Backups follow the retention rules of your backup provider. You can manage Photos permissions in system Settings.

Support

If you contact support, the information you choose to provide is used to respond to your request. Do not send private photographs or sensitive information unless necessary for your support question.

Contact Kazobe: hello@kazobe.com. Email providers process messages to deliver and store support correspondence. You can contact this address to ask about, or request deletion of, information you have sent to support.

Your privacy choices

  • Manage Photos permissions in your device’s system Settings. Ordinary photo selection uses the system picker; importing an entire burst requires Full Access.
  • Enable or disable Sync projects with iCloud in Projects on each device. Disabling sync does not delete existing local or cloud data.
  • Delete projects from Projects. Original photos, exported videos, Saved Logos copies, and synchronization history are separate, as described above.
  • To manage cloud history, turn sync off on every device first, then manage BurstReel’s iCloud storage in system Settings.
  • For questions about these choices or information sent to support, email hello@kazobe.com. Kazobe cannot directly delete files held only on your device or in your personal iCloud storage.
